Scottish actor John Sessions has cornered the market in 70s political heavyweights lately, having portrayed Harold Wilson in Made In Dagenham and Wilson's political nemesis Ted Heath in The Iron Lady. Had Meryl Streep been unable or unwilling to play Margaret Thatcher in that film then maybe Sessions would have taken on that role too.
He wouldn't have been the first chap to drag up and wield the Thatcher handbag after all, Steve Nallon having enjoyed a lucrative career portraying Mrs. T during the 1980s. But what next for Sessions? A biopic of the former Labour Prime Minister James Callaghan - Sunny Jim, The Musical perhaps? If anyone out there is planning such a film there's only one man for the job.
