Life with Oscar

It was third time lucky at the Oscars for two of Britain's finest craftspeople, costume designer Jacqueline Durran and make-up/hair artist Lisa Westcott.

After nominations for two of Joe Wright's earlier films, Pride and Prejudice and Atonement, Durran (below) finally snared the statuette at the 85th Academy Awards for her work on Anna Karenina.

For Westcott, her reward, shared with Julie Dartnell, finally came for Les Miserables after missing out twice before, for Mrs Brown and Shakespeare in Love.

Their Oscars completed a distinguished double as Durran and Westcott had also won BAFTAs for their work a fortnight earlier
