I cried on Harry Potter's last day, says Daniel
Daniel Radcliffe has admitted he cried when shooting finally finished on the last of the Harry Potter films, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
"It was very, very emotional," he told chat show host Larry King. "I kind of wept like a child."
Radcliffe said the role of the world’s favourite boy wizard could have gone to anyone – and he never forgets it.
"The most important thing is for me to remember, it doesn't matter who would have got this part. They would have got this attention," he told King in a special CNN show.
"When you step out of the car at a premiere and you're hit with that wall of noise and screaming, it's very important for me to remember that they would be screaming for somebody else had he got the part.
“It's not about me – it's about the franchise and the character, and so that I kind of have to think about a lot just to keep it in perspective and stop myself from getting big headed.”
He added: "I've had such an amazing time on Potter, and it's been such an extraordinary experience to work with. It's actually the same group of people for 10 years. You develop such close bonds with so many people it feels odd that, although those bonds will still exist in the future, it feels very strange to not be going back to work with them next year.”
King was tempted back from retirement for the one-off special, Harry Potter: The Final Chapter which will air on CNN on July 10. It will also feature interviews with Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Helena Bonham Carter and Robbie Coltrane and will air some previously unseen footage from the film, which opens on July 15.
