It's Office-ial: The return of David Brent

He’s probably the most famous boss there’s ever been in Slough. Then he disappeared. And now, 10 years on, we’re about to find out what happened to David Brent, the manager from hell in The Office.

Ricky Gervais is coming back as Brent for a one-off Comic Relief special to be shown on Red Nose Day on BBC 1 on March 15.

Apparently Brent is now working in a menial job, but is still pursuing his passion for music and is managing rap acts.

On the show's return, Gervais said: "I thought it was time to revisit my most famous comedy creation to find out what he's been up to for the last decade and most importantly what he's up to now.

"He is passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rock stars now and is living vicariously through a young performer, Dom Johnson.”

The Office originally aired from 2001-2003 on BBC 2 and soon became one of the most successful comedies of the noughties, spawning a long-running US version starring Steve Carell.
